Becoming a Volunteer

There are three steps to becoming a volunteer:

  1. Orientation - Call (415) 925-7258 to register
    (Volunteer orientation is closed for the remainder of 2009)
    • Adults (18 years of age and over):
      1st Saturday of each month - 9:30-10:30 a.m.
    • Youth (14-18 year old high school students):
      This program is currently FULL. We are unable to accept new applicants. Please check back.
    There are no Orientations held in January, July, and December.

  2. Medical Clearance from MGH Employee Health Services (no cost to applicant)
    • Two TB tests
    • Immunity Certification from physician (or school nurse)
  3. Join the Volunteer Program
    • Interview
    • Purchase uniform
    • Competency Exam
    • Sign Oath of Confidentiality
    • Placement, Schedule & Training
    • Photo I.D. badge
