A Better Option for Many Women
Until recently, most gynecologic surgeries have been too complex to be conducted with laparoscopic techniques. That's because conventional laparoscopic technology doesn't offer the dexterity or precision needed to perform many difficult aspects of gynecologic surgery. So, traditional open surgery, using a large incision to access the uterus and surrounding anatomy, has been the standard approach. Yet, open surgery can result in significant pain, trauma and a long recovery process.
For a variety of reasons, open surgery remains the only approach for some women. But for most women, there's a better option.
With robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery, surgeons make tiny incisions, and operate with better visualization and control. This minimizes the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of a fast recovery and excellent clinical outcomes.
