MGH Volunteers Raise $290,000
For Hospital Programs

The Marin General Hospital volunteer organization raised $290,000 for various hospital programs in 2005. That’s $13,000 more than 2004.

The results were announced during National Volunteer Week, April 23 through 29.

The volunteers also awarded $36,000 in scholarships to 23 employees and 6 volunteers to further their healthcare careers. Some 320 volunteers contributed almost 30,000 hours of service last year.

MGH Director of Volunteers Kathy Meyer said, “We are so proud to continue to support both hospitals with our service and the funds we raise.”

The volunteer organization was established in 1950, two years before MGH opened to the public.
