Rhodes Names MGH Employee of the Year

Delbert Rhodes, a Clinical RN IIDelbert Rhodes, a Clinical RN II in Marin General Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, was named Employee of the Year for 2006.

Rhodes received a $300 check, a $500 gift certificate from a local travel agency and a reserved parking space on the MGH campus for a year. His formal portrait will be placed on the hospital’s second floor Wall of Fame.

“He is the nurse you would want taking care of you or your mother,” said Paula Holman, RN, ICU Manager. “He is the one to turn to in a crisis. He is competent, friendly and resourceful. I am privileged to be able to work with him.”

Rhodes, who was Employee of the Month in January 2006, joined the hospital staff in 1995. He lives in Richmond.

MGH began its Employee o f the Month recognition program in January 2002. At year’s end, employees select the Employee of the Year from the monthly winners.

The criteria for selection includes: a commitment to professional pride and care; be self-motivated and accountable; demonstrate a positive, conscientious and considerate attitude toward patients, fellow employees and others; outstanding performance of any kind within the hospital to the benefit of their department ad/or their co-workers; and excellence in the performance of their particular job.
