Philanthropy today empowers our hospital to meet the healthcare needs of the community – now and in the future.
The Marin General Hospital Foundation supports and coordinates fundraising for programs, facilities, equipment, and related healthcare services at Marin General Hospital. Through its Board and committees, the Foundation also creates and maintains philanthropic partnerships with Marin County residents that are proving especially vital in a time of ever-increasing healthcare costs.Who Runs the Marin General Hospital Foundation; Where Do the Funds Go?
Staff from the Marin General Hospital Foundation and its committees, with the help the medical and administrative staffs and the Boards of Directors, identify the highest priority needs for the hospital, set fundraising goals, and solicit the necessary donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations.Donors may designate their gifts to a specific program or equipment acquisition in the hospital. Undesignated contributions are gratefully accepted—they are allocated to areas of greatest need.
The policy of Sutter Health is that all charitable contributions remain in the local community and are used for local hospital needs.

Healthcare costs are increasing, yet government and insurance reimbursements to hospitals and doctors continue to decline. We rely on the generosity of the communities we serve to help provide new services, purchase new technology, and introduce new programs. The end result: maintaining and enhancing the quality of care we provide to our patients and their families.
