Infant and Child CPR and Safety

This Course is Set to the Guidelines of the American Safety Health Institute for CPR

The Benefits
This basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training is intended for expectant couples, parents and community members who may need to respond to an emergency. This program is intended to convey and demonstrate the recommended lifesaving care that may be necessary at the scene of an emergency, especially those involving the care of a child or infant.

What You Will Learn
Using the most recent recommendations from the American Safety Health Institute, couples will be trained to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including choking for children and infants. Students will learn how to provide CPR, management of choking and basic first aid and safety. The class will also cover prevention and care of common first-aid emergencies.

Our course of instruction is taught by a Certified CPR Instructor who is also certified by the American Safety Health Institute (ASHI).

The Course
To reduce or minimize the risk of disease transmission, everyone involved in CPR training will use a separate, sanitized training manikin. Also, having your own manikin makes for more hands-on practice. Remember . . . PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT! CPR training does require physical activity. If you have a medical condition or disability that will prevent you from participating in practice sessions, please inform your instructor. The instructor will make any reasonable accommodations possible.

Participants will test their knowledge and receive a CPR Certification Completion Card valid for 2 Years.

The Cost
Per Individual…………………………$45.00
Per Couple………………………………$70.00

“Hey, What About Me?”

A Sibling Preparation Class for Expectant Brothers and Sisters

“Hey, What About Me?”
The Sibling Preparation Class is Designed for Expectant Parents and “Soon-To-Be Big Brothers And Sisters”, Ages 3-12 Years Old

The Benefits
This class is designed to help families pull closer together as they learn about what to expect when a new baby is born into the family.

When a family is expecting a new baby, it is sometimes hard for an older brother or sister to know what to do and how to feel. It is easy for a sibling to love a new baby sister or brother, but it is just as easy to be angry or resentful at the same time. It is very important to establish good communication between family members that will allow children to continue to feel they are an intrinsic part of the family dynamics when the new baby arrives home.

Class Format
  •  Simple discussion at a child’s level:
    • Changes going on in the family, with mom and dad, and what the child can expect.
  •  What will the new baby look like?
  •  Pictures of newborn appearance and newborn hospital procedures.
  •  Talk about newborn delivery and mom’s appearance.
  •  Movie “Lizzie and the Baby”.
  •  Role playing with dolls to learn to diaper and hold baby.
  •  Coloring activity.
  •  Tour of hospital room and newborn nursery.
The Cost
For parents and
  •  1 child………………………………$25.00
  •  2 children…………………………$35.00
  •  3 children…………………………$45.00

Enrollment: See registration form

The Schedule
The class is offered approximately every two months.

Register for the class that is scheduled prior to the closest date of the new baby’s expected arrival.
