
Infant Care Series
These classes may be taken individually or as a series of four classes, with either the one-day Childbirth Class or the three-day Childbirth Classes. For convenience, the classes are offered in a series of four consecutive Wednesday evenings. Register for classes during the midterm of the pregnancy due to limited class space.

Class IV - Breastfeeding
Taught by an International Certified Lactation Consultant, this class focuses
on establishing breastfeeding and avoiding difficulties. Topics include:
- Preparation & Establishing Breastfeeding
- Babies’ Cues, Latching On & How Long to Feed
- Partner’s Role
- Working Mothers & Pumping for Baby
Class V - Post Partum Expectations & Realities of New Parents
This class is designed
to prepare parents for the changes that happen in their lives during and after
the baby is born! Topics include:
- Delivery to Discharge
- Your Physical and Emotional Changes
- Getting Back to Normal
- Birth Control
Class VI - Care of Your Newborn
Your baby is home, so now what? This class helps guide new parents through common
care routines, such as bathing a newborn, as well as information on newborn
health concerns. Topics include:
- Bathing Your Baby
- First Hours of Your Baby’s Life
- Hospital Routines
- Rashes, Jaundice, Crying, etc.
- Choosing Your Pediatrician
Class VII - Home & Car Safety
This class covers important information on how to keep your baby safe at home
and on the go. Please bring a bottle of water
to class and do not wear any perfumed fragrances. Topics include:
- Buying Safe Toys
- Baby-Proofing Your Home
- Buying Sensible & Safe Baby Equipment
- Car Seats
