Meet Our Certified Lactation Consultants

Certified Lactation Counselors are available for consultation and support. Our experienced registered nurses have special training in lactation and are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC).

Chris Costello, RN, IBCLC, MGH Certified Lactation Consultant.
Chris has worked as a Registered Nurse for 34 years and began her career at Children’s Hospital, San Francisco. She continued her career at Marin General after her children were born, all three at MGH. Chris has worked for the hospital’s Women & Children’s Services for almost 30 years, with a focus on breastfeeding. She has expanded her breastfeeding education and experience, working with challenged new mothers in the home and teaching prenatal classes for over 27 years. Chris started the MGH Lactation Center with the BabyNook Store in 1999, making support and products readily available to new mothers.

Julie Moxley, RN, IBCLC, MGH Certified Lactation Consultant.
Julie has worked as a Registered Nurse for 24 years. She has 13 years of Intensive Care Nursery experience. Julie has specialized in lactation for almost 10 years, starting at CPMC and now at MGH. She teaches the MGH Pre-natal Breastfeeding Class, where she enjoys meeting new parents that she will follow in the hospital after their babies are born. She also works in the Lactation Center to consult with parents after they go home.
